Introduction to mammalian cell culture

This course aims to provide an introduction to basic techniques in mammalian cell culture including:
Basic cell culture procedures
Transfection of plasmid DNA
RNA silencing
Analysis of cell lysates by SDS PAGE and Western blotting
Immunofluorescence
At the end of the course students should be aware of:
Basic culturing methods
How to introduce or knockdown their protein of interest and analyse the cellular response to this
Experimental planning considerations
