"For me, the driving force is that the earth needs to last for future generations as well"
I had previously studied at a university college, and my curiosity was awakened by learning more about how our planet and its population are affected by what happens in the atmosphere.
Why are we worried about global warming? What can we do to reduce the harmful effects? These were some of the questions that whirled around my head and needed answers.
The subject is complicated, so I realised that I needed a lot of knowledge to be able to investigate the concepts. A Master’s in
atmospheric science seemed like a perfect continuation
of what I had already learnt.
Now I am learning how to understand the weather and what hidden forces influence the weather, for example. Here in Sweden, the weather is, to say the least, erratic and different from what I am used to from Indonesia, where I come from. I think it is an interesting science.
Here at the university, we are trained to think as a team and to pool our knowledge to find solutions. With my knowledge, I can make a
contribution and have an impact to ensure that our planet lasts
for future generations. I can’t save the world on my own, but
together with others I can push these important questions and
really make a difference.
