Application and Selection

To study at the University of Gothenburg as a free mover you apply at the website universityadmissions.se. Paper applications are not accepted.

Please note that certain courses and programmes have their own application systems. The presentation of the course or programme in question will clarify this point.

Application deadline

Application deadline for autumn 2012 is January 16th. 

When submitting your application, you must include the following documents

1. Cover sheet

2. Certificates and diplomas from previous education at an internationally recognised higher education institution

3. Transcripts of completed courses and grades (including course list). If possible, sort them in reverse chronological order, i. e. the most recent on top

4. Proof of English language skills.

5. Proof that you meet the specific entry requirements.

6. A copy of the page in your passport with your personal data and photograph or some other document of identification 

Proof of knowledge in English

Proof that your knowledge of English meets the general entrance requirement can be provided by one of the following international tests:

• International English Language Testing Service, IELTS, minimum score 5.0, no score under 4.5 in any section of the test.
• Test of English as a Foreign Language, TOEFL, minimum score 500 p with at least 4 in the Written test part (computerized test 173 p, internet test 61 p)
• First Certificate in English, University of Cambridge/Oxford, with grade A, B or C.
• Lower Certificate in English, University of Cambridge/Oxford.
• Certificate in Advanced English, University of Cambridge/Oxford.
• Certificate of Proficiency, University of Cambridge/Oxford.

NOTE! That some programmes and courses require a higher test score than the above mentioned.

This requirement does not apply to students with Bachelor degree from an English speaking university, or to students having passed English level B at Swedish/Nordic Upper Secondary School.
