Livets ursprung och förutsättningar - seminarium inför forskningspropositionen

Seminar series

Welcome to discuss Livets ursprung och förutsättningar (The origin of life and its prerequisites), one of seven areas proposed to the Ministry of Research and Education by the national research agencies. The Ministry is preparing the governmental research bill to be presented in the autumn 2012.

This is the fourth seminar in a series of seven, related to the research areas pointed out to be prioritized for financing. These seminars are to be seen as a first step in preparing the University, in cooperation with other partners, for an optimal response to the challenges that will be presented in the governmental research bill.

We hope to enable meetings between researchers with different backgrounds, which in the long run might generate new ideas and new ways of approaching the field. Perhaps some seeds to new exciting collaborations will also be planted...

Approximately half of the time is set aside for discussion, hopefully of the lively kind.

After the seminar the participants will have the opportunity to mingle and exchange thoughts/ideas over a light meal.

This seminar will be held in Swedish.

Lecturer: Introductory talks will be held by David Dunér, Lund University, and Hans Olofsson, Chalmers and Director at Onsala Space Observatory. Shorter presentations by researchers at the University of Gothenburg: Andreas Johnsson, Department of Earth Sciences; Karin Hårding, Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences; Per Elias, Institute of Biomedicine. Moderator Marie Rådbo, Department of Physics.
